Terms of sale
The deal, in plain English. Nothing here reduces your rights under the Australian Consumer Law, and nothing here is written to be clever at your expense.

Who you're dealing with
[[ENTITY]], an individual trading as a sole trader.
[[ADDRESS]], [[SUBURB]] [[STATE]] [[POSTCODE]], Australia.
[[EMAIL]] · [[PHONE]]
When these terms say "we", "us", "[[TRADING]]", "[[BUSINESS]]" or "[[SERVICE]]", they mean that entity. Your contract is with the person behind the ABN above, not with the trading name.
These terms apply to every quote we give and every order we accept. If we've signed something separate with you, that document wins where the two disagree.
2. Quotes and approval
- Quotes are fixed and valid for 14 days unless the quote says otherwise.
- No work starts and nothing is charged until you approve the quote in writing — an email saying "go ahead" is enough.
- If a job turns out to need more than we quoted, we stop and re-quote. We will never invoice you above an approved price without your written agreement.
- Quotes are based on the information you give us. If the part, dimensions, quantity or material change, the price changes and we'll tell you before proceeding.
- Turnaround is three business days from your approval, not from your first enquiry. Rush is +50% and depends on a machine being free. Where we can't meet your date, we say so when we quote.
3. Prices, GST and payment
All prices are in Australian dollars. Our published rates are at our published rates.
GST: we are a small business and are not currently registered for GST, so no GST is charged and our invoices are not tax invoices for GST purposes. If we register, prices will be shown GST-inclusive and we'll say so before you order.
- Consumers: payment is due on completion, before collection or dispatch.
- Trade accounts: net-14 from invoice date, $150 minimum per order, subject to us agreeing an account with you.
- We accept bank transfer and, where offered, card. Card payments are processed by Stripe and card details never reach us.
- Title in the goods passes to you on full payment. Risk passes on collection, or when we hand the goods to the carrier.
- On overdue trade accounts we may pause further work and recover reasonable costs of recovery. We don't charge compounding penalty interest.
4. The drawing fee
Where you don't have a model file, we draw the part for you.
- The fee is $89 for the first hour, payable up front, and is credited in full against your print if you proceed within 30 days.
- Further drawing time is quoted and approved before it's started, at $80/hr.
- If you don't proceed, the fee covers the work done and is not refundable — except where the drawing is defective, in which case section 7 applies.
- You get the printed part. Source CAD stays with us unless purchased — see section 10.
5. Making your part, tolerances and materials
- Tolerances. FDM 3D printing holds roughly ±0.3 mm on a typical part. Tell us which dimensions are critical and we design the clearance in and verify them before the part ships. If you don't identify critical dimensions, we work to that general tolerance.
- Materials. We recommend material based on where the part will live, and we will tell you when the material you've asked for is wrong for that environment — PLA softens at 55–60 °C, and a vehicle cabin in a Queensland summer exceeds that. Where you direct us to use a material against that advice, we'll print it, and that choice is at your risk.
- Colour and finish. Layer lines are inherent to the process. Colours vary between filament batches. Where finish matters, ask for finishing — it's charged at $60/hr.
- Your files. You're responsible for the dimensional correctness of any model file you supply. We check for printability, not for whether your design does what you want.
6. Delivery and collection
| Method | Cost | Timing |
|---|---|---|
| Collection — [[SUBURB]] QLD | Free | By arrangement. Ring first; it's a workshop, not a shopfront. |
| Australia Post satchel | $11.50 / $19.75 | At cost. Small or large. |
| Delivered by us | Quoted | Trade orders, or orders over $300, within Brisbane's south-west. |
Delivery estimates are best-effort. Once we hand a parcel to Australia Post, transit time is not within our control. If a parcel is lost in transit we'll help you trace it and, where it's genuinely lost, remake the order — we won't leave you holding it.
7. Returns, refunds and remakes
If a part is faulty, isn't to the approved dimensions, or doesn't match the quote: tell us within 7 days of receiving it and you choose — we remake it or we refund it. We pay return postage on a faulty part.
Custom-made parts and change of mind. Almost everything we make is made to your order. We're not obliged to refund for change of mind, a wrong measurement you supplied, or a material you chose against our advice. We'd still rather sort it out than have you stuck with something useless — ring us and we'll usually meet you part-way.
Catalogue items that we hold in stock and that come back unused and undamaged within 14 days: refunded, less return postage.
None of this limits the rights described in section 8, which cannot be excluded.
8. Warranty against defects
We warrant our parts against defects in materials and workmanship for 12 months from the date you receive them, in normal use, for the environment the part was quoted for.
To claim: email [[EMAIL]] with your job reference, a photograph of the fault and a short description, or ring [[PHONE]]. We pay all costs of claiming under this warranty, including return postage and the remake. Send it back and we'll remake or refund it — your choice.
This warranty does not cover fair wear and tear, accidental damage, modification, use outside the environment the part was quoted for, or a part used in an application listed in section 9.
Your rights under the Australian Consumer Law
Our goods and services come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. For major failures with the service, you are entitled:
- to cancel your service contract with us; and
- to a refund for the unused portion, or to compensation for its reduced value.
You are also entitled to choose a refund or replacement for major failures with goods. If a failure with the goods or service does not amount to a major failure, you are entitled to have the failure rectified in a reasonable time. If this is not done you are entitled to a refund for the goods and to cancel the contract for the service and obtain a refund of any unused portion. You are also entitled to be compensated for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage from a failure in the goods or service.
The warranty above is in addition to these rights, not instead of them.
9. What we won't make
We decline roughly one enquiry in five. We will not supply parts for:
- load-bearing or structural applications;
- medical, dental or veterinary use;
- pressure-retaining service;
- firearms or their components;
- aerospace, aviation or marine safety equipment;
- any application where failure could cause injury, or as a substitute for a certified component.
Do not use our parts in those applications. If you do so anyway, without telling us, we are not liable for the consequences and this warranty does not apply — except to the extent the Australian Consumer Law entitles you to a remedy that cannot lawfully be excluded.
10. Your files, our drawings, and IP
- Your files stay yours. You keep all intellectual property in models and designs you supply. You grant us only the licence needed to make your job.
- You warrant you have the right to have your file or linked model printed, and you indemnify us against third-party IP claims arising from a file you supplied.
- Licences on free models. Many models on Printables, MakerWorld and Thingiverse carry non-commercial licences. We check, and we'll tell you if there's a problem rather than quietly print it.
- Counterfeits. We don't reproduce parts that appear counterfeit, patented or trademarked without evidence you have the right to have them made.
- Drawings we make. Where we draw a part for you, we own the source CAD unless you buy it. You own the physical parts and may use them freely. We'll sell you the CAD at a fair price — just ask.
- We won't show your work in our catalogue, portfolio or marketing without your written permission.
11. Cancelling
- Before printing starts: cancel at no cost. Any drawing fee already earned is retained.
- Once printing has started: you're liable for material and machine time consumed to that point. We'll show you the figure, not invent one.
- We may cancel if we can't source the material, if the job turns out to fall under section 9, or if the file infringes someone's rights. You get a full refund of anything paid, and we'll tell you why.
12. Liability
Where the law allows us to limit our liability, our liability for any claim is limited, at our option, to remaking the goods, resupplying the services, or refunding what you paid for them.
We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss — lost profits, downtime, or loss of opportunity — except where the Australian Consumer Law says otherwise.
Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts or modifies any guarantee, right or remedy under the Australian Consumer Law that cannot lawfully be excluded. If any part of these terms is found to be unenforceable, the rest continues to apply.
13. Using this website
- Content and code on this site are ours. You may read it, print it and share links freely. Don't copy it wholesale for a competing site.
- The in-browser price estimate is an estimate. The fixed price is the one we send you in writing.
- We try to keep the site accurate and available, but we don't guarantee it's free of errors or never offline.
- How we handle your information is set out in our privacy policy.
14. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Queensland, Australia. Disputes go to the courts of Queensland, but ring us first — almost everything is fixable with a phone call.
We may update these terms. The version that applies to your order is the one published when you approved your quote. Material changes will be dated at the top of this page.
